Village Green (Kikuyu-Pennisetum clandestinum)

VillageGreen® is proven to be the protagonist of the Mediterranean and can be placed in most parts of the Balkans.
It has a shorter period of dormancy compared to most warm season Kikuyo varieties.
It has great resistance to high temperatures and water salinity.
Minimum irrigation requirements. Huge resistance to harsh use.
As a sterile variety, it reproduces only genetically with rhizomes and stolons, therefore it does not produce inflorescences and seeds, elements which create aesthetic and functional problems.

PORPOSED USE
Hotels, houses, parks, playgrounds, golf courses, professional places, soccer fields, and where hard use is required with serious water savings without compromising on quality. Ideal for islands.

GREAT ADAPTABILITY
It has excellent adaptability to most soil types but also in a wide range of climatic conditions.

SHADOW RESISTANCE
It grows ideally in full sun and has moderate resistance to shade. Nevertheless, it adapts and grows satisfactorily under the light shade of trees as long as it receives more than 4 hours of age radiation during the day.

RESISTANCE TO SALINITY
It has the highest resistance to salinity of all warm season varieties.
Utilizes all available water sources and is irrigated even with biological treatment water or brackish drilling.

EXCELLENT USE RESISTANCE AND GROWTH CAPACITY
Its fast growth rate, rich root system and compact surface enable it to show excellent behavior even after intense use.

Environmentally friendly
Requires 40% less water than other lawns. Due to the strong root system it requires less fertilizer to maintain its color (bright green), compared to other warm season sod.

Mowing height
It can be cut to a height of up to 25-30mm for soccer fields and at a higher height for homes and public spaces.
